Fortnite Broadcasts Mysterious Signal on TVs Across Map

Epic Games is ramping up the anticipation leading into Season 4 of Fortnite. Amidst the mania caused by widespread comet sightings, players are speculating more than ever about potential catastrophe after a strange emergency broadcast appeared on TVs across the map today.

The cryptic feed is accompanied by the sound of an emergency siren and features perhaps the most head-scratching hint so far in this whole saga: an image of a llama, front and center. Epic Games appears to be playing into Fortnite fan theories that originally sprouted when comets and shooting stars began appearing in the sky above Tilted Towers.

Epic Games is clearly having fun with this whole thing, even going as far as to troll players, in cosmic fashion, who were expecting a meteor to hit on April 18.

Fortunately, plenty of Fortnite players are having just as much fun theorizing on Reddit about what may be to come when Season 3 ends, and how such an event might affect the game’s narrative, map, and mechanics going into Season 4. Among several popular theories is one that predicts a meteor strike will turn Tilted Towers into rubble, leaving players to duke it out in a post-apocalyptic environment.

Perhaps more gripping is a theory based on the possibility of an alien invasion, which isn’t implausible considering that the current Battle Pass is space-themed. The theory gained steam when an eagle-eyed player spotted what appears to be a glowing UFO in the sky close to a large comet. However, watching the video, it’s hard to discern whether the object was intended to be an alien spacecraft or not.

Learning from players’ collective disappointment over the April 18 prank, it’s always wise to acknowledge that this could all amount to very little when Season 4 begins. Until then, it’s likely we’ll uncover even more hints as the days pass and Season 4 approaches ever nearer.

Fortnite is available now in early access on iOS, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
