Destiny 2: First Warmind Patch Scheduled For Next Week

The latest addition to Destiny 2, Warmind finally dropped earlier this week and brought plenty of positive changes to the game with it. As with any expansion for any modern game, though, Destiny 2‘s newest batch of content introduced a few bugs along with the new story, weapons, and game modes.

While many were minor and impacted a relatively small number of players, others were major and forced Bungie to take immediate actions like disabling matchmaking improvements for solo players. Resolving all these issues is sure to be an ongoing process, and the first step towards addressing them is scheduled to hit next week.

Destiny 2’s developer had a lot to say in their first post-Warmind edition of “This Week at Bungie.” Some new Spire of Stars raid lair details were shared along with a peek at some of the new gear players can win once Trials of the Nine returns this weekend. A large chunk of the weekly post was dedicated to providing guardians with a list of known issues and Bungie’s plans for dealing with them.

The list is quite thorough including everything from the currently disabled matchmaking improvements to specific pieces of gear not displaying properly. In the post, Bungie says they’re working toward ironing out all of these bugs and will be addressing many of them with a Hot Fix currently scheduled for Tuesday, May 15.

For now, the only major bug the Hot Fix is confirmed to address is the glitch afflicting the currently-disabled Rat King exotic sidearm. The developer seems to be aware that fans are getting tired of hearing vague plans for improvements because they went on to say that they’ll deliver more detailed information on the specifics of the fix soon.

While it’s far too soon to definitively say that Bungie has learned their lesson with Destiny 2, they do seem to have become a bit more willing to communicate with their fanbase. Now that Warmind is finally here and is by most accounts at least better than Curse of Osiris, fans might finally have a good enough reason to hold out some hope for Destiny 2‘s next major expansion due out this September.

Destiny 2: Warmind is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
