Last week was a big one for Destiny 2 fans as the second expansion, Warmind, finally launched alongside season 3. Between the new expansion content as well as all of the season 3 changes, including a new Crucible ranking system, players certainly had plenty of new things to do and work towards. With so much new content coming into the game, a few glitches and bugs also found their way inside to hamper player progression like a nasty issue related to the Warsat Heroic Public Event.
Recently discovered and discussed on the Destiny 2 Reddit, players found it impossible to trigger the heroic event modifier when taking part in the Warsat public event on Mars. Like the previous game, players scan then defend it by standing around it and raising a percentage meter. In order to trigger the heroic modifier, players need to take out high-level targets during the event such as Witches that trigger at specific points of progression. Upon killing them nearby shriekers to open, which players need to destroy three of them. Unfortunately, players have found that the third shrieker isn’t actually opening during the event, causing the heroic modifier to not properly trigger as expected.
Thankfully, Bungie is well aware of this unfortunate glitch as one of the Destiny 2 community managers, dmg04, responded to the post to let players know that it is an issue the studio is looking into. When pressed for more information, he went on to reveal that the issue stems from the fact that players can advance the event so fast that the Heroic modifier can’t be triggered in time. Occasionally, the third shrieker will actually sometimes open and close before players can actively shoot at it. While Bungie isn’t providing a timetable for when this issue will be fixed, dmg04 did confirm that it won’t be included in the hotfix release this week. Once he or someone else has more to share, they will.
As previously mentioned, Warmind launched with a few other big issues as well including a Heroic Strike glitch which doesn’t actually count player progression after finishing a mission from the playlist. Not only is the issue preventing players from finishing the weekly heroic milestone, but it’s also getting in the way of unlocking the popular exotic Linear Fusion Rifle, The Sleeper Simulant. Thankfully, Bungie has been working on a laundry list of fixes for many of the issues that have recently cropped up and the studio is preparing its first hotfix for tomorrow, May 15.
Destiny 2: Warmind is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
