Fortnite Nintendo Switch Port Leaked by Job Listing?

Fortnite Nintendo Switch Port Leaked by Job Listing?

Epic Games’ multiplayer game Fortnite has already proven to be a hit on several platforms. Not only has the game amassed a huge fanbase on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, but the mobile version of Fortnite Battle Royale has also raked in millions of dollars too. But according to a new rumor, Epic Games is setting its sights on yet another platform and is planning to release the game on Nintendo Switch.

The leak comes via Iron Galaxy Studios, the developer behind the Nintendo Switch port of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The developer has posted a job listing for a director of game design on its website and the original description for the role mentioned the studio’s work on a Nintendo Switch port.

The original text of the listing, included in the tweet below, includes the sentence “Our best known creative works are, the critically acclaimed Killer Instinct, and Divekick; which are complimented by our technically superb Fornite and Skyrim Switch ports.”

The main page of the listing reportedly said “We’re known for our excellent work on Killer Instinct, Fortnite, and bringing Skyrim to the Nintendo Switch,” with the inclusion of the comma making a big difference. Iron Galaxy also reportedly worked on the mobile version of Fortnite, which explains why the game was mentioned at all. The mention of Fortnite was later removed altogether, perhaps to avoid confusion. Despite the speculation currently taking place in the Fortnite community on social media, Iron Galaxy may not be working on the Switch port after all.

The Iron Galaxy job listing may or may not confirm the existence of a Switch port, but there have been several other indications that Fortnite is headed to the Nintendo console. Just last month a Twitter poster named LeakyPandy revealed that the Nintendo Switch version of Fortnite will include some exclusive content related to Nintendo IPs. Among the leaked details about the Switch port of the game, LeakyPandy also confirmed that the Switch version of Fortnite Battle Royale will not be much more different to the version on PC and other consoles.

There has also been vocal support for a Nintendo Switch version of Fortnite, with Chance the Rapper calling for a port of the game. Epic Games has also addressed these requests, saying that it will “hopefully” release its massively popular game on the Nintendo console “at some point.”

With the leaks about the Switch version of the game continuing to mount, fans will be wondering when Nintendo and Epic Games will lift the lid themselves, officially announcing the game. An announcement could come at E3 2018, where Nintendo is set to make several major announcements and show off some of its biggest titles (including Super Smash Bros.) Fortnite could potentially be part of these announcements.

Fortnite is available now in early access on iOS, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
