Since their release of Fortnite: Battle Royale, Epic Games has made sure that their crown jewel receives constant improvements by releasing weekly add-ons and important updates to the game in order to keep the experience fresh and fun. It’s these lasting developments that have made Fortnite the successful behemoth that it’s become.
But even though Fortnite is relatively bug-free, players have recently discovered an annoying bug/glitch that causes some items (such as medkits and weapons) to become invisible when dropped. Players have reported being able to see dropped items, while those in their squad are unable to see them.
Epic Games has noticed and addressed the issue on May 21, a day before their v4.2 update, on Reddit and on the Fortnite Community Trello page. It seems as though the glitch may be part of the reason why the new v4.3 patch was delayed, since patch notes would have normally arrived by Tuesday morning, introducing Fortnite players to all of the updated challenges and patch notes they’ve come to expect.
For now, players can only go off the early patch notes revealed by the game’s Trello board, which provides some clarity of the issues marked as fixed for the games next update. Some of the upcoming patches include a new Shopping Carts to the island, which should presumably allow two players to ride downhill, and the return of the cosmetic refund feature that was removed in April.
The feature that players will probably find most appealing, though, is the ability to track challenges in-game, “Starting in v4.3 there will be in-match pop ups to highlight your challenge progress,” Epic explains. “Track what you’ve completed and plan out your strategy for the remainder of the match or your next one!”
It’s fair to say that Fortnite has some of the most loyal and observant fans in gaming, and lucky for them, Epic knows how to please them. By staying current on what fans want and what bugs need fixing, Epic has made sure to keep the outrage to a minimum and assure players that everything is under control. It’s only a matter of time before all bugs are gone and players are able to enjoy new features that Fortnite has consistent on delivering.
