About a couple of weeks ago, Epic Games and People Can Fly announced the decision to continue introducing more sets of new limited time modes for the wildly popular sandbox survival title, Fortnite Battle Royale, in a bid to keep fans engaged with the free-to-play game. Now, the companies have added a fresh limited time mode today, calling it “Solid Gold,” which gives players the chance to wield only legendary weapons when out in the field.
As seen in the tweet below from the official Fortnite Twitter account, Battle Royale fans who jump into action in Solid Gold will only encounter weapons that glow with a golden hue – hence the pun in the game mode’s name – which are considered to be legendary armaments. As indicated by the image shared below by Epic Games, these gold weapons will include the likes of silenced pistols, rocket launchers, sniper rifles, and much more.

For those trying out Fortnite Battle Royale’s Solid Gold mode for the first time, it’s best to keep one’s wits about them more so than ever before due to the fact that adversaries are guaranteed to be wielding extremely dangerous firearms almost as soon as the match begins. Gone is the slow build of finding a gray gun, then a green one, and eventually a purple weapon, with an extremely rare legendary peppered in throughout the course of a game, so players better make each shot count.
Beyond Fortnite Battle Royale’s introduction of the limited time Solid Gold mode, Epic Games and People Can Fly recently included a jetpack item in its latest list of new and upcoming additions for the game, leading many to speculate that actual flight could eventually be in the cards. Taking all of this into account, it’s obvious that the publisher and developer are intent on keeping Fortnite Battle Royale fans playing for the foreseeable future with a plethora of fun and interesting content.
Fortnite is currently available in early access for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
