As of now, many continue to speculate as to whether or not Diablo 3 will eventually receive a Nintendo Switch port, with one recent report from Eurogamer stating that it is currently being developed for the platform and is set for a possible reveal in the coming months. While the rumor mill continues to swirl with scuttlebutt revolving around the title potentially getting its own version for the Big N’s latest system, a recent online retail listing lends further fuel to the fire that the RPG is indeed coming to the hybrid mobile console.
According to a recent listing on the online UK site known as “Coolshop,” it appears as if Diablo 3 is set to be sold for Nintendo Switch through the retailer, but there’s no telling if the posting is inaccurate or if it has possibly been shared prematurely. As seen in the screenshot directly below, the listing on the site currently has the title priced at £47.95, and it is without an official release date despite Coolshop having apparently ordered copies of the RPG from its manufacturer.
With Blizzard having yet to officially confirm Diablo 3‘s release on the Nintendo Switch, the safest course of action is to take the listing and any subsequent rumor regarding the game coming to the platform with salt. That said, though, the publisher and developer teased the game as a prospective port for the Nintendo Switch by sharing a seemingly innocuous tweet with a picture of a Diablo head nightlight being switched off and on.
Taking all of this into consideration, there’s currently no telling if Diablo 3 is actually on its way for the Nintendo Switch, especially with the Big N often being quite reticent to confirm or deny news of any properties being released for its platforms without the company officially condoning the information. So, for those hoping to see the role-playing game on the Switch, all one can do is keep their fingers crossed and hope an announcement is on its way.
Diablo 3 is available now for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
