Without a doubt, Pokemon GO fans are excited for the mobile augmented reality game’s Eggstravaganza event, which officially made its return today, and offers players the chance to hatch rare Pocket Monsters out of 2KM eggs until early April. Speaking of such rarities, one fan recently datamined the title and discovered that the development team at Niantic added a group of several new Shiny Pokemon to celebrate the event.
As seen in the Imgur album below, The Silph Road community member and Redditor known simply as “Chrales” found that Niantic added 3D models for Shiny versions of Wobbuffet, Magmar, Togepi, Togetic, and Magby last night on Pokemon GO‘s servers. This indicates that these Shiny versions of all five of the aforementioned Pokemon species – and potentially Wobbuffet’s pre-evolved form Wynaut – should be available in the ARG at some point today.

The incorporation of these new and unique variants of the Pokemon in Pokemon GO comes shortly after Niantic’s decision to add the first Shiny Legendary to the game, with many currently seeking out this special iteration of the powerful Lugia. For those on the lookout for the Psychic- and Flying-type, along with the previously listed new Shinies, it’s important to examine each creature closely, as a Shiny typically exudes a sparkling effect and is colored differently than its common iteration.
Taking all of this into account, it’s good to see Niantic continuing to give Pokemon GO fans new creatures to catch and collect in tandem with fresh events such as the popular Eggstravaganza affair that began today. While these features might be more than enough for some players to handle, it seems as if there’s always more PoGO content just around the bend, as the game’s Bulbasaur-themed Community Day begins in few days from now.
Pokemon GO is available now for Android and iOS devices.
