Fortnite Patch Causes Issues with Rewards, XP [UPDATE]

[UPDATE: Epic Games has successfully fixed the rewards, XP, and progress issues with Sniper Shootout and Save the World. The original article continues below.]

With Fortnite‘s Update 3.4 now live, there are understandably plenty of fans of Epic Games and People Can Fly’s popular multiplayer sandbox survival title exploring all there is to offer, specifically the reintroduction of the player-favorite Limited Time Mode known as Sniper Shootout. However, it looks as if the patch is causing a lot of problems in regards to the game, particularly relating to the granting of rewards, XP, and progress in the aforementioned LTM and more.

As seen in the tweets below from the official Twitter account for Fortnite, Epic Games has announced that it is currently investigating the reasons behind why Sniper Shootout is being affected by the glitch, and has promised to provide an update as soon as it receives “more information” on the matter. What’s more is that the title’s paid portion – that is, Save the World – is currently being plagued by bugs from Update 3.4 as well, as earned rewards are not being granted at the end of missions.

While many Fortnite fans will understandably be disappointed to learn that Sniper Shootout and Save the World is currently on the fritz, it’s safe to presume that once the problem is identified and rectified, any rewards, XP, and progress lost during this time will be restored in some capacity. Until then, players are at least still able to enjoy getting a handle on the latest weapon introduced into Battle Royale with the guided missile.

All things considered, there’s no telling when or if Epic Games will be able to rectify the problems currently affecting Fortnite today, as the studio has yet to make any further announcements regarding the glitch that is apparently affecting all players. Hopefully, though, we will see the action building game restored to its full glory sooner rather than later. While waiting for that to happen, perhaps players can bide their time by checking out this leak showing off potential Easter-themed gear for the game.

Fortnite is available now in early access on iOS devices, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
