Pokemon GO is having a very busy summer. The game’s active playerbase is the highest it has been since after the initial summer 2016 hype and the addition of trading, friends, and nearly constant events seem to have made the game a very popular activity this summer. There’s so much going on in Pokemon GO that it’s actually a bit difficult to keep track of, but we can help out with that.
Niantic promised a summer of events for Pokemon GO players and the developer wasn’t kidding around. July has a ton going on, but some events are location specific and don’t apply to players in the United States. This has caused a bit of confusion, but luckily the Pokemon GO community put together a helpful visual to understand everything going on in the next few weeks.
Here’s a look at the July events for United States Pokemon GO players, based on research from PopChamp…
Currently, players are benefiting from the rewards being unlocked at the Global Challenges around the world. These bonuses will hopefully lead to the arrival of shiny Articuno next weekend. As the graphic points out, that’s just one highlight of a very busy month.
Next week also will have players hunting down Squirtle for Community Day. Considering the popularity of the Gen 1 starter, it should be a very active Community Day, despite the fact that it’s not a very meta relevant Pokemon at this point.
Those are all of the events we know about for now, but stay tuned later this month to see what happens with Global Challenge 2. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
