Fortnite's Dimension Rifts Might Destroy Tomato Town

Fortnite's Dimension Rifts Might Destroy Tomato Town

UPDATE: Looks like the Tomato Town mascot is gone!

As most Fortnite fans are likely aware at this point, the recent missile launch has led to there not only being a gigantic crack in the sky above the map of the ridiculously popular multiplayer sandbox survival shooter, but also it has caused dimensional rifts to pop up across numerous locations. One of those areas is Tomato Town, and many are starting to speculate that the tear in the universal fabric of the game is an indication that Epic Games might destroy the spot.

As seen in the image below from the Redditor and Fortnite fan known as Legendio, Tomato Town doesn’t appear to be long for this world, as the dimensional rift appears to be taking over the mascot’s head for the in-game location, potentially leading to its removal at some point in the near future. However, there’s always the chance that Epic Games decides to keep the integrity of the structure intact, but redesign the buildings’ outward appearances to make Tomato Town a similar, albeit different area altogether.

While there’s no telling just yet exactly what Epic Games has planned for Fortnite‘s map when Season 4 wraps up later this month, it’s safe to presume that the map will be given a pretty sizeable makeover once Season 5 rolls around. Much like when the meteor appeared as a precursor to the destruction of Dusty Depot, it’s highly likely that the aforementioned dimensional rifts are evidence of developers hinting at spots that will receive various facelifts.

All things considered, Epic’s decision to continue deploying these in-game teasers regarding the newest batch of content on the way has helped the studio not only maintain Fortnite‘s fan base, but also grow it, as long-time players and newcomers alike keep coming back for more to learn what’s next for the title. So, although Tomato Town may go splat soon enough, it looks as though there will be a steady stream of content to take its place.

Fortnite is available now for iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
