In Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, players are able to interact with friends in special friend encounters to level up their friendship with them and earn rewards. These rewards include free gems, free energy, exclusive cosmetic items, and the ability to take different friends on quests. Considering this, leveling friends is one of the most important things players can do in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.
To level up friends in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, players have to complete friend encounters with them, which are each technically available twice in a 24 hour period, but most players will only be able to do them once per day. These friend encounters including having a meal in the Great Hall, playing Gobstones in the courtyard, and drinking butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade. The encounters play out like trivia challenges, with players earning up to three diamonds that then translate into XP for their friendship level.
The problem is not all friends are created equal, with some requiring many more points to increase from one level to the next than others. Players may be curious as to which friends they should save for quick level ups to get free energy, and which they may want to focus on leveling up a bit between story chapters so they can have an energy boost waiting for them when more content is available. With that in mind, here are all the points needed to level each friend in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery so far:
Basically, the friends players meet early in the game are easier to level up than the friends players meet later in the game. So characters like Rowan Khanna, Ben Copper, and Penny Haywood can all be leveled quite easily, whereas Andre Egwu and Charlie Weasley require a lot more friend encounters before they will level up.
Considering this, players should save the friend encounters with early friends for times when they want free energy boosts, and then work on grinding friendship levels with the other characters between story chapters.
