Battlecruisers is a 2D real-time strategy developed by two people from the United States and New Zealand. In it, you command your own Battlecruiser in the ocean as you decide which defences to build so you can protect your cruiser against frigates, destroyers and bombers that your opponent sends at you.
You can use defensive items such as shields and boosters to protect your cruiser, while also utilising the power of builder drones to increase your production speed. Just like your opponent, you can also turn the tables on them and launch an offensive arsenal of your own too featuring fighters, gunships and attack boats.
There are other powerful choices for your weapons too, such as death star satellites, nuclear rockets and long-range artillery, which are referred to as experimental ultra weapons. Check out some gameplay for the game in this trailer we’ve linked below.
More information about Battlecruisers is available on the game’s official website, where you can also learn about the development, and is worth a read as it goes into some of the trouble Mecha Weka ran into while developing the game.
The beta is available now and Battlecruisers is set to release on the iOS App Store and Google Play for Android as a free to play title on mobile with paid DLC after launch, while the PC version is the opposite with a $10 price tag and free DLC to follow.
