In a new development update, community manager Tyler ‘Postums’ Davis shared some good news. “If all goes according to plan, it shouldn’t be too much longer now before Halo 2 officially releases on PC and then we’ll get ready for Halo 3 lighting!” With it being the first time that both Halo 3 and ODST are coming to PC, they really look impressive.
Following the launch of Halo 2, the team will also push out an early version of the challenges feature. Players can look forward to earning XP for completing campaign missions on different difficulties. These challenges will refresh every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. The full feature will eventually arrive in a future Master Chief Collection update.
Those who love messing around in Forge on Halo: Reach will be pleased to know more improvements are in the works as well. The team wants to improve controls for mouse and keyboard, make UI improvements, and add remappable keybinds.
Visual elements are being looked at as well, so that weapons will no longer obscure too much of the view. The playlist rotation for the month of May was also shared:
- 5/6: Grifball
- 5/13: Big Team Battle Update
- 5/20: Experimental Playlist
- 5/27: Monthly Feedback Maintenance
- 6/3: Shotty Snipers
The list of issues that the community has brought up is still being looked at by 343. While the focus remains on bringing Halo 2 and the rest of the Master Chief Collection to the PC, the developers are also committed to ironing out all the problems raised.
