The ancient world is in need of taming, and who better to do it than you, the greatest king or queen the world has yet to see? That is the allure of Crusader Kings III, the grand strategy game set in the Middle Ages. Following a few months of support, publisher Paradox Interactive has unveiled the first piece of DLC arriving for Crusader Kings III at the Paradox Insider event, with the Northern Lords getting the love.

If you like Vikings, then you are in for a good time — at least for a little while. This will not be the first expansion for Crusader Kings III, but rather as a flavor pack DLC that brings new, smaller content.

The Northern Lords Flavor Pack will add new art, 3D models, music, events, and features such as adventurer realms. With players already familiar with Viking raids and invasions, now you will learn even more about what the Norsemen are up to when they are in their own domain. Of course, you can make yourself a new Norse lord and experience all of this firsthand. The best part is that you do not even have to wait that long.

New experiences

The Northern Lords Flavor Pack DLC for Crusader Kings III will launch on March 16. It will arrive alongside the substantial (and free) patch 1.3. We already know that the winter season will be a big part of that, and the Norse sure look like they will thrive in such conditions.

Other units will also be able to take advantage of the conditions. For those who love their combat, there is even a new dueling system to look forward to. How you play will change significantly in these new environments, so you have been warned.

Nevertheless, you can enjoy more of their medieval lives with the arrival of the new DLC for Crusader Kings III.

This was not the only announcement that came out of the Paradox Insider event. We also got more news about the Stellaris: Nemesis expansion, Europa Universalis IV: Leviathanand a new studio in charge of Surviving Mars.
