Where to find the Season of the Lost’s biggest secrets – and when you can access them.

Destiny 2’s Shattered Realm is a series of missions available throughout Season of the Lost, running between August 2021 to February 2022.

These are a key part of the Wayfinder’s Voyage quest, where each week you must visit the Shattered Realm in order to progress the storyline.

Not only that, but each week unlocks new abilities to help you uncover more of the Shattered Realm’s secrets – including a number of optional collectibles – which we have outlined mission by mission.

How the Shattered Realm in Destiny 2 works, and how to prepare for its secrets

The Shattered Realm is a destination introduced in the Season of the Lost Wayfinder’s Voyage storyline, and is comprised of three missions – Forest of Echoes, Debris of Dreams and Ruins of Wrath.

Each one has three beacons and a boss battle to complete within a Taken-style realm, but that’s not all; each area has multiple types of collectibles and secrets to uncover, unlocking various Seasonal Challenges and Triumphs in the process. For completionists, there’s a lot to get stuck into.

The more you play through the Wayfinder’s Voyage quest, the more abilities – such as True Sight – you’ll unlock.

There are, of course, several complicating factors. One of these is that only one Shattered Realm mission is available at any given time – with the next mission cycling in on the next weekly reset.

If you are playing through the Wayfinder’s Voyage quest, this doesn’t affect your progress – as you simply need to complete the active Shattered Realm mission to progress the respective step. However, if you are after all the Shattered Realm’s secrets, then it means waiting until your desired mission is active in the rotation schedule before you can access everything.

The other thing to note is that, before you can get everything, you must unlock a series of abilities first. Though you can start uncovering some secrets as soon as completing the first week of Wayfinder’s Voyage, it might be easier to wait until you have everything first.

If you want to find everything there is within the Shattered Realm, it’s recommended you:

  • Get up to speed with the Wayfinder’s Voyage storyline, with each week unlocking new abilities to help you explore the Shattered Realm further
  • Unlock the Ager’s Scepter Exotic, granting you the ability to destroy rocks and find further secrets

With the above in hand, you can then fully explore the Shattered Realm and find its many secrets.

Destiny 2 Shattered Realm rotation: When will Forest of Echoes, Debris of Dreams and Ruins of Wrath next be available?

The Shattered Realm’s three missions work on a rotation – cycling from one to the next each week at the usual weekly reset time.

This means only one mission is available at a time – and you have to wait until the following week to access the next mission.

Thankfully, as each one goes in sequence, we can work out when a specific mission will be playable in the game – useful if you are still slowly making your way through Wayfinder’s Voyage and want to plan your excursions.

The Shattered Realm rotation is as follows:

Weekly reset date Shattered Realm mission
September 28th Ruins of Wrath
October 5th Forest of Echoes
October 12th Debris of Dreams
October 19th Ruins of Wrath
October 26th Forest of Echoes

November 16th Forest of Echoes
November 23rd Debris of Dreams

January 11th Ruins of Wrath
January 18th Forest of Echoes
January 25th Debris of Dreams

From February 22nd, 2021, Season of the Lost will end and the Witch Queen expansion will begin – removing the Shattered Realm area from Destiny 2.
