You’ve met the Raiden Shogun a couple of times before, and you got your butt handed to you. Now, you’ll have a rematch. This time, you’ll see this narrative arc to its conclusion. Here’s our Genshin Impact Inazuma Archon quest guide to help you defeat the Raiden Shogun once and for all.

Note: For more information about the game, check out our Genshin Impact guides and features hub, as well as our version 2.1 overview. You may also take a look at our main guide for Act 3 of the Inazuma Archon quest. Likewise, please be reminded that this guide contains spoilers. Lastly, we have a character build guide if you were lucky enough to get the Raiden Shogun via gacha wishes.

Genshin Impact: How to defeat the Raiden Shogun and reach the Act 3 Inazuma Archon quest ending

Before you face off against the Raiden Shogun, you’ll first need to eliminate La Signora. Well, technically, the Raiden Shogun is the one who finishes her off. A scene will then follow where the Traveler is walking back to the city proper. She’s weak and groggy, too. If you see prompts where she’s having a headache, press the spacebar multiple times until she snaps out of it.

Past this point is another cinematic that shows the resistance forces that have arrived. The Raiden Shogun attempts to teleport to stab the Traveler, but, thankfully, Kazuha is there. The empty Vision he held after his friend died temporarily gained power. This allows him to save the Traveler.

With this act, the Traveler ends up spawning in the Plane of Euthymia, the pocket dimension created by the Raiden Shogun. It’s time to fight.

Remember the earlier quest step called Anti-Raiden Shogun Training? That’s to prepare you for the boss’ abilities. These include quick teleports followed by slashes, AoE lightning strikes, and crescent-shaped projectiles. And, yes, the Raiden Shogun also does her ultimate move. She’ll spawn several circular outlines that will cause massive explosions. You have to destroy a small crystal fast in order to clear that area from a potential blast.

Do your best to deal damage to her, and keep yourself healed by using skills or eating food.

Oh, and don’t forget that the boss will also cast the Vision Hunt Decree. I believe this occurs once she hits 75% HP (I’m not sure if it’s based on a timer). During this phase, your characters won’t be able to use their elemental skills or bursts. The only one immune to this is the Traveler, but I doubt most of us leveled Lumine/Aether.

While you’re debuffed, try to avoid her attacks and just survive. After a minute has elapsed, you’ll trigger a cutscene.

Yae Miko will appear, telling you that those who’ve lost their Visions to the Raiden Shogun are empowering you thanks to the Omamori. When this happens, your party will gain godly buffs to ATK%, healing, and energy recharge.

You should be able to crit for hundreds of thousands of damage, enough to drop the Raiden Shogun’s health considerably.

After fully depleting the boss’ HP, you’ll see another cutscene. This time, it shows the Raiden Shogun’s past as the woman Ei, well before her current persona was created by the Electro Archon Baal. Then, she and Yae Miko will have a conversation about “Eternity” and the continued protection of Inazuma.

The ending cinematic shows that the Raiden Shogun agreed to end the Vision Hunt Decree. Everyone rejoices, and you’ll see glimpses of all the characters you’ve met in Inazuma. People seem to be at peace, at least for now.

When you go to Grand Narukami Shrine, you can talk to Yae Miko and ask her a few questions. She admits that the Electro Archon, Baal, had a twin called Beelzebul (who had since died). Likewise, the current Raiden Shogun is just a construct. Another variant created from this persona is none other than the Fatui Harbinger Scaramouche. What the heck?

Moreover, Yae Miko suggests going to the region of Sumeru next. The God of Wisdom resides there, and the people worship this so-called Lesser Lord Kusanali. Then, she’ll hand you the Omamori for safekeeping.

To be clear, it’s extremely unlikely that we’ll go to Sumeru immediately in Genshin Impact. The version 2.3 update will definitely have filler activities to tide us over, as well as the remaining characters from Inazuma (i.e., Thoma, Gorou, and Yae Miko herself). In any case, this concludes Act 3 of Genshin Impact‘s Inazuma Archon quest. It’s pretty much the ending to the major narrative arc in this region. Give yourself a pat on the back for making it this far.
