The
year might almost be over, but Pokémon GO Trainers have plenty to look forward
to before they usher in 2021. Make sure your avatars are fitted with hats and
gloves, because December’s five-star raid Pokémon are as cold as ice. From Tuesday,
December 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Friday,
January 1, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. PST
(GMT −8), the Ice- and Dragon-type Pokémon Kyurem will be appearing in five-star
raids. At the same time, Mega Abomasnow will be making its Pokémon GO debut and
appearing in Mega Raids, replacing Mega Blastoise.
Trainers hoping to earn the exclusive Legacy 40 medal by reaching level
40 before the end of the year should take advantage of the double Catch XP bonus
currently in effect. It’ll be active until Thursday, December 31, 2020, at
11:59 p.m. local time. When
combined with the XP bonuses offered by some of the Pokémon Spotlight Hours
happening each Tuesday from 6−7 p.m.
local time, you’ll have the opportunity to seriously increase your XP growth! Check out the schedule below for more details on December’s Pokémon Spotlight
Hours.
Date | Pokémon | Bonus |
December 1 | Seel | Double Evolution XP |
December 8 | Swinub | Double Stardust |
December 15 | Adventure Hat Pikachu | Double catch Candy |
December 22 | Snorunt | Double transfer Candy |
December 29 | Snover | Double Evolution XP |
Organizing
Pokémon in Pokémon GO is about to get a lot easier thanks to a
soon-to-be-introduced tagging system and general updates to search functionality.
The Pokémon tagging system will allow Trainers to create tags and organize
Pokémon by tag color. Trainers will also be able to search for Pokémon using a
variety of search terms including Pokémon Type, Region, Buddy Level, Shiny, and
more.
Best of luck ending the year strong!
