The Ancient Secret Mode will be selectable from the main menu and will allow players to explore a building that has begun rising from Miramar and Erangel. It starts the game at ground level but as the match progresses it will float and follow the circle. It’s a two-story structure with the second housing a boss that players can defeat for various rewards.
Elsewhere on these maps, players will also find small ruins that will spawn in random locations. Here there will be puzzles for players to solve. Similarly, there will also be Ancient Slate puzzles for players to tease their brains with.
To coincide with the game mode’s arrival, players will also be able to unlock a Golden Pharaoh X-Suit Outfit. Joining this rather highfalutin sounding outfit will be four costumes called Warrior of Ra, Warrior of Nut, Underworld Guide, and Mummy. These can also be upgraded by six levels to change the appearance, gain emotes and more.
Each of these outfits will have a Treasure Crate that’s unique to them. These can then be unlocked for additional rewards. Among those will be Pharaoh Coins which can be exchanged for other outfits and materials to upgrade the Golden Pharaoh X-Suit.
Meanwhile, in the Arena mode, players will be able to take part in a four vs four game variant called Team Gun Game. This will be available from Friday to Sunday each weekend and will see player’s weapons gradually upgraded as they get kills, with the ultimate aim being to get a kill with the pan.
Team Gun Game will also be available on the new Library map. This is the first indoor map on PUBG Mobile and it will have a symmetrical layout. Players will be able to scramble up platforms, hide behind doorways and bookshelves to try and gain an advantage over their opponents.
PUBG Mobile is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It’s a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
