As a disclaimer, this is not a properly designed and implemented solo mode for the battle royale. Instead, it is more of a fix to a common problem. It is not uncommon to enter a match in Apex Legends only to see teammates go off on their own and be lone wolves.
Instead of saddling other players with such troublesome predicaments, Respawn wants to ease the burden. Such players will be able to use the No Fill toggle coming in the Chaos Theory Collection Event so that no other players are able to join their squads. Basically, these players can go solo in Apex Legends and face off against enemy teams of three or duos.
Prove your worth
Respawn remains unsure on a proper solo mode for Apex Legends, and it is clear why. It will require plenty more rebalancing work when it comes to that, and the focus for Apex Legends is still on the multiplayer team experience. This new No Fill option can be considered a compromise.
Teams can still play as teams, while the lone wolves have a chance to prove their worth. Unlike other temporary solo modes, the No Fill option is a permanent addition for Apex Legends.
You can jump in on March 9, when Chaos Theory begins. To get a head start, be sure to check out our many guides as you prepare for the next Apex Legends event.
